Worth knowing about Bettes ingredients
More than organic
The majority of the ingredients in the Bettes products are organic, but we also grow the herbs for the products using permaculture and biodynamic methods. The methods benefit biodiversity and the herbs also have a very special power, scent and effect.
Butters and oils
Most butters and oils in the products are cold pressed. You can clearly see and smell a huge difference when oils are cold pressed - vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are well preserved and the skin can thereby enjoy much greater benefits. This year, we are moving ahead and squeezing our own hazelnut oil and pumpkin seed oil from our own trees and gardens. This always ensures freshly pressed oils with higher vitamin content. At the same time, it is a great environmental benefit, by saving the shipment of oils from other countries.
When it comes to finding natural active substances, there should preferably be a scientific basis for the effect. In the Bettes products, among other things, ultra low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, lactic acid bacteria, Q10, vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5. In addition to assets, we use dried powders from whole plants, some powders we make ourselves, an example is seaweed flour. We also make gentle extracts of herbs in water and oil. Extracts (only for preservation) are rarely used, as it is our theory that the skin has the best of the plants in an unprocessed form - we usually compare it with orange juice made on concentrate versus freshly squeezed orange juice.
Always the best ingredients
We always go for the highest quality of an ingredient and are happy to pay double and / or drive to various private manufacturers around the country. Eg. The honey used in the Glow Mask is from Dragør, it is free of pesticides and the bees are really good here. They live in a vast natural area, far from pesticides and pollution. We also use the finest biodynamic beeswax from Funen and oatmeal oil from a passionate micro company on Bornholm.
